Welcome to FIDM… Population: RED FLAGS.

10 Feb

As with most Red Flags there are exceptions to the rule, but in most cases, if your new/current prospect plans to attend, is attending, or is an alumni of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising… Red Flag!

If FIDM only knew the amount of Red Flags they’re pumping out, they would surely increase their acceptance criteria.  I haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause for this, but I certainly have found the student body that waves this flag proudly. Maybe after reading the facts of my story, someone out there can help me understand.

I have had the privilege of meeting and dating many FIDM alumni and I have built the material list for this Red Flag because of them. My first question is; Are there females out there who attend other colleges besides FIDM?  Of course, I know the answer to this but I tell you its insane how many females I meet who are attending or have attended this institution.

So far, every single one of these ladies I have dated have earned their BA at FIDM, only to turn around and go back to school for something completely different or work a job that has nothing to do what they majored in.  This is true for every single one of the women I know, even the “big league” girls that double majored. It’s as if they just up and disregard ever going there.  A couple of them have actually applied something from their FIDM education in the real world but with no real success.

So, is their reason for attending FIDM mainly about the daily fashion show in each class? The excitement of wearing top designer outfits to school is a good enough reason for me. Maybe that’s just it. It seems to me that these girls are not done with the social world of high school, and are looking to experience a little higher scale of Gossip Girl.

I just can’t take these girls seriously. All I have ever seen from these girls is an undecided career path, a lack of motivation in making life decisions, debt from student loans which seem to have served no purpose, oh, and they all wanted to date me! I sure know how to find them!

New Rule:  If you have a history of dating multiple people who all have the same Red Flags… Red Flag yourself for poor decision making! So, I guess I get a Red Flag for this one too. Yay!
